Dorothy "Dottie" Lindahl, 57, 909 W. Fourth St., Boone, died Wednesday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of respiratory failure. She was born Sept. 16, 1944, in Crawfordsville, IN, the daughter of Dallas and Dorotha (Cook) McLaughlin. She was formerly married to Harry Miller and Richard Lindahl.

In earlier years, she was employed at Dow Chemical and at the ISU veterinary lab. For 13 years, she was employed as a packer and as a mixer at Archway Cookie Co., retiring in 1985 because of a health disability. Her hobbies included bowling, archery, showing horses, reading, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Dallas Charles McLaughlin. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Arlene Lindahl of Oak Grove, TN; one daughter, Pam Hull of Boone; her companion, Darold Shadle of Boone; one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Audrey McLaughlin of West St. Paul, MN; one sister and brother-in-law, Deanna and Jim Hall of Linden, IN; one sister-in-law, Joan McLaughlin of Saginaw, MI; three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Ryan and Audrea Hull; four
step-grandchildren, Henry, James, Tonya and Christina Harvey; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, with the Rev. Daniel Solomon officiating. The body will be cremated following the service.

Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel today from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
