Yvonna S. Overbeck, 94, Boone, died Wednesday at Boone County Hospital of congestive heart failure. She was born July 8, 1907,in Griswold, the daughter of George and Inez (Johnston) Stone. She married Henry C. Overbeck Dec. 31, 1931, in Boone.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Boone, Iowa Artists, Waterloo Art Association, Central Art Association, and the Iowa Art Council. She organized and served as the first president of the Boone Brush & Pallett Club and was past president of the Boone Women's Club. She was a well-known Boone artist and conducted many one-woman shows throughout the state. The honors she received were from American Artist, Iowa State Fair and All Iowa Show.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and one daughter, Denise Jacobi. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Overbeck of Boone; one son-in-law, R. Dean Jacobi of Polk City; five grandchildren, Mike Jacobi of Des Moines, Ann Radden of Des Moines, David Jacobi and his wife, Shelley, of Des Moines, Joe Hare and his wife, Kimberly, of Martinez, GA and Katie Hare of Woodward; and eight grandchildren.
The body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Harken officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, is in charge of arrangements.
