Edward B. (Ted) Pearson, 88, 322 Linn St., Boone, died Wednesday at Boone County Hospital of a heart ailment. He was born Sept. 22, 1912, in Clarinda, the son of John and Mildred (Davies) Pearson. He married June Anderson July 30, 1937, in Clarinda.
He was a graduate of Clarinda High School and Clarinda Junior College. He and his wife lived in Fort Dodge and Perry before moving to Boone in 1958. He was employed as the meat market manager at Fareway Stores, Inc., Boone, until his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Boone and was a past member of the board of directors of Fareway Stores, Inc. His hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister. Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rod and Nancy Pearson of Battle Creek, and Larry and Karen Pearson of Charlottesville, Va.; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Ron Grabau of Cumming, Ga.; one sister, Ethel Erickson of Walker, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Fullerton officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Friends may call at Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., when the family will be present to receive friends. Visitation continues Monday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.
Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church.
