L. Margueritte Stotts 1919-2001

L. Margueritte Stotts, 82, 608 Tama St., Boone, died Friday at her home of heart failure. She was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Boone, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Rose) Christensen. She married Francis Stotts Sept. 29, 1949, in boone.

She graduated from Boone High School and graduated from beauty school in Cedar Rapids. She was a self-employed cosmetologist in Boone and she and her husband owned and operated the former Old Town N' Country Antique Shop on Story Street in the mid 1970s and early 1980s. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Boone, Iris Society and Boone Rebekah Lodge No. 301. Her hobbies included flower gardening and collecting polished rocks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Lillian Mylenbush. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, William and Linda Stotts of Ames; and one grandson, Craig Stotts of Ames.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, with the Rev. Dr. Ron Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation continues Wednesday at the funeral chapel from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
