Lynn Vale, age 60, of 1003 Story Street, Boone, died February 23, 2006 at the Boone County Hospital. Graveside services will be Monday, February 27, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Linwood Park Cemetery with Rev. John Swoyer officiating. Burial will follow the service.

Lynn was born in Atlantic, Iowa on May 27, 1945 the son of Lewis and Ardis (Reich) Vale. He attended Lowell Elementary School in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1963. On July 3, 1966, he married Joleen Ferry at the First Baptist Church in Boone. Lynn served with the Iowa National Guard for 6 years. In earlier years, he worked with his father who owned the Boone Valley Hatchery.

He later owned and operated a lounge in Mason City for 8 years. Since 1977, he has been owner and operator of Lynn's Lounge in Boone. Lynn enjoyed watching all sports and soap operas especially the "Young and the Restless."

Lynn was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Joleen of Boone; two sons, Scott Vale and Jason Vale and his wife, Amber all of Boone; his mother, Ardis Vale of Boone; his mother-in-law, Betty Ferry of Boone; four grandchildren Ethan and Cara Vale of Spirit Lake and Abby and Jackson Vale of Boone; a sister-in-law, Connie Iles and husband Darrell of Waseca, Minnesota; two nephews, Gary Iles of Beaver and Joey Iles of Clear Lake; and a niece, Sherrie Boyd of Waseca, Minnesota.

Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Sunday from noon until 9 p.m. where the family will be present Sunday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Visitation continues Monday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
