Ada Erickson, 76, of 724 - 7th Street, Boone, Iowa passed away at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday morning, June 22, 2006.
She was born on February 8, 1930 in Macon, Missouri the daughter of Allie and Genevieve (Bell) Lunsford.
On November 11, 1946, she married Edward Erickson at Macon, Missouri.
Ada was a 1947 graduate of Macon High School. She worked as a bank teller until her marriage when the couple moved to Boone to make their home. She was a homemaker and was employed as a housekeeper at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone for 18 years until her retirement in November of 2005. Ada enjoyed being with her family and traveling to visit them.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Her parents, husband, Edward in September of 1986, 1 daughter, Marie Sprecher in May of 1992, and 1 sister preceded her in death.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Carol (Gary) Fairchild of Boone, Shirley (Bruce) Fett of San Diego, California, 1 son, Dr. Eric Erickson of Chicago, Illinois, grandchildren Wendy (Scot) Kinne of Boone, Cindy (Russ) Kramer of Mason City, Iowa, Terri (Joe) Bricker of Boone, Kristie Fairchild, Michael (Sara) Sprecher of Manchester, Iowa, Larry Sprecher, Brock Fett and Derek Fett both of San Diego, California, great-grandchildren Bret and Erin Kinne of Boone, Miles Kramer of Mason City, Iowa, Josy and Brycen Bricker of Boone, Gillian and Harrison Sprecher of Manchester, Iowa, Marie Sprecher, Wyatt Sprecher, and 1 brother Allan (Betty) Lunsford of Macon, Missouri.
Services will be held on Saturday morning, June 24th at 9:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Boone with Rev. Philip Webb officiating.
Interment will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa.
Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning at the Church from 8:00 A.M. until the time of service.
The family will be present at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. to greet friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be given to the San Diego Chapter of Autism Society of America, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the First United Methodist Church of Boone Sunday School Program.
Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Boone, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
