Mathias Thomas

Funeral services are pending at the Oppold Funeral Home for 77-year-old Mathias Thomas, Gilbertville who died at 11 p.m. Monday in the Christopher Rest Home in LaPorte City of cancer.

Mr. Thomas was born Oct. 17, 1879 near Gilbertville, the son of Nicholas and Mary Ambrosy Thomas. *Mary's maiden name was Bisdorf. Mathias's wife was Elisabeth Kurtz, married in 1903 in Waterloo.

The Rosary will be cited at Oppold's at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Gilbertville-Funeral Services for Mathias Thomas, 77, who died Monday night in the Christopher rest home at LaPorte city of cancer, will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church here; burial in church cemetery; leaves widow, and a son Lawrence, Tucson, Ariz;

Rosary will be cited at 8 p.m. at the Oppold Funeral home in Waterloo.
