Hi Shellie,
I am working on figuring this out but you didn't put any locations in your query. Do you know where Eleanor was born? I did find John and Kate's marriage in Dubuque County in 1896 but they didn't put any information in it unfortunately.

I suspect that your John may be the John that was divorced in Black Hawk County in 1885 from a wife by the name of Amanda. I found this in the newspapers.

I also found a Meggison in Dubuque county in a state census that had a daughter born in Black Hawk County so it is safe to assume they went back and forth.

I will let you know what else I find out through email. I have a girlhood friend who's maiden name is Blough and have even asked her to check with the family to see if they know anything about your "Grandma Blough".
