It appears from the US Censuses for Black Hawk County, Iowa, that Eugene's parents were probably Amile & Clarrissa Gardner. I can email you the U.S. censuses from 1870 through 1920 if you would like to look at them yourself. According to the WPA Cemetery records that I have, there is a Eugene A. Gardner buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa. He died at the age of 63 years on 28 August 1924. Hope this helps! Do you have an obit for him?
