Casper Welter was born in Luxemburg, Germany, November 1860, and died at his home in Gilbertville, Thursday, Dec. 14, 1939.

On April 19, 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Lavenz at Wabasha, Minnesota.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, four sons and four daughters, who are: Nick, of Medford, Minnesota; John of Hazleton; Phillip, of Gilbertville; Theodore of Jesup; Mrs. John Lutgen, of Gilbertville; Mrs. Clarence Youngblut; and Mrs. Arthur Youngblut, of Jesup; and Mrs. Joe Schares of La Porte. There are also 50 grandchildren and three brothers, Fred, Peter, and Nick of Crookston, Minnesota, and a sister, Mary, in Germany.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 16, at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, Fr. W. J. Cremer officiated.
