Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for William B. Schares, 86, of 124 Kern St., who died at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Hospital of complications of his age.
He had been a patient at the hospital for two weeks.
Funeral services will be in charge of Rt. Rev. Msgr Ernest Ament, pastor of the church.
He was born in Spring Creek Twp. on June 13, 1881, the son of Adam and Mary Kasch Schares. He was married to Fannie Golinvaux at Gilbertville, on Oct. 11, 1905.
He farmed in the Gilbertville community all of his life and retired and moved to Waterloo in 1944.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Paul of La Porte City; James of 1822 Sycamore St.; and Francis of Gilbertville; four daughters, Mrs. E. H. Olinger of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. William Weber of Gilbertville; Mrs. Clem McGrane of Texarkana, TX; Mrs. Dan Strauel of Jesup; three sisters, Sister Mary Camilla of Montevideo
