Mrs. Val Bahl mourns the death of her brother, Emil Girsch, who died at his home in Washburn Monday afternoon following a second stroke suffered Sunday. He was 44 years old.
Mr. Girsch served 18 months in Europe and was at the front when the Armistice was signed. He was a member of the Legion at Jesup, later transferring to Waterloo.
Deceased was born in Cedar Twp., Nov. 21, 1895. He married Agatha Weber, of Gilbertville, on Nov. 20, 1920.
Survivors are the widow, five children, Mark, 18; August, 14; Mildred, 10; Joseph, 8; and Mary Jane, 4; his father, J. C. Girsch, Gilbertville; two sisters, Mrs. Val Bahl, of Jesup; and Mrs. Leona Mangrich, of Waterloo, Route 6; two brothers, Victor, Waterloo, Rt 6, and Floyd, of Colona, IL. His mother and two brothers preceded him in death.
