Mrs. Anna Fischels, 84, of Gilbertville, died of a ruptured aneurysm of the aorta Thursday about 6:15 p.m., being dead on arrival at St. Francis Hospital.
She was born Anna Bovy, Aug. 12, 1884, at Eagle Center, daughter of Peter and Catherine Schares Bovy, and was married there to John Fischels, May 3, 1905. He died Oct. of 1949. She was a member of Gilbertville Immaculate Conception Church and its Rosary Society.
Surviving are four sons, Peter, Francis, and Irvin, all of Gilbertville, and Paul of Little Rock, Ark.; four daughters, Mrs. Joe Demuth and Mrs. James Johannes, both of Gilbertville, Pauline Fischels of 614 Mulberry St., and Mrs. James Newton, 1167 Mitchell Ave.
Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nick Fischels, Sr., Gilbertville, and Mrs. Mike Fischels, Sr., of Independence. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Gilbertville's Immaculate Conception Church. The pastor, the Rev. Kenneth Ryan, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Rosary services at Oppold Funeral Home will be at 7:30 and 8 p.m. both Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
