DEATHS

MATE (MIKE) SULENTIC

Mate (Mike) Sulentic, 61, of 126 Summer Street, died of carcinoma at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday in St. Francis hospital. He had been ill for the past eight months.

Born Nov. 20, 1882 in Lovinac, Austria - Hungary, he came to the United States in 1902. He was employed in Kansas City and DeKalb, Kan., before coming to Waterloo in 1907. On February 2, 1906 he married Mary Mataic, who died in 1915. Two children were born to this union. He married Mary Krpan Jan 15, 1918, in Waterloo.

He was employed by the Illinois Central railroad until 1920, when he went into the grocery business, and later the tavern business.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and Holy Name society.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Joseph F., 121 Summer street; one daughter, Mrs. F. L. Shader, 504 Ankeny street; four brothers, Emil in Yugoslavia, Peter, 149 Adams street, Nicholas, 121 Summer street, and Jack, 330 Cottage street.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary, his parents and his first wife.

The body is at the O'Keefe & Towne funeral Home.
