William Judd Reinart
March 16, 2000 - January 31, 2020
William Judd Reinart was born March 16, 2000, in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Scott and Susan (Truax) Reinart. He attended Hansen Elementary, Holmes Middle School and Cedar Falls High School where he was consistently on the Honor Roll. Will graduated in 2019 and attended Hawkeye Community College with plans of majoring in Biology and hopes of becoming a physician one day.
Having been diagnosed with leukemia when he was 9, he was a fighter who was never discouraged despite frequent recurrences of his illness. Will was an easy going, loving and determined young man who kept life in perspective for those closest to him with his dry one-liners. He was the recipient of the Trent Bierle Memorial Scholarship for students exhibiting caring, optimism and courage. Will was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 42 and achieved Life Scout rank with aspirations of achieving Eagle Scout even though his illness often kept him from active participation. He was also a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church where he was confirmed on April 26, 2015.
Will passed away at the age of 19 years on Friday, January 31, 2020, at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. He is survived by his parents, Scott and Susan Reinart of Cedar Falls; his brothers, Daniel Reinart of Iowa City and his twin brother, Samuel Reinart of Cedar Falls; his grandparents: Robert and Balbina “Bobbie” Reinart of Davenport and Judd and Evelyn Truax of Cedar Falls; many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved furry companion, Oliver.
Will’s Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cedar Falls with a private family burial to follow. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the family for the establishment of the Will Reinart Determination Scholarship Fund and condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
