Biography--

Henry Smith, 72, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

He was born February 25, 1947 in Lexington, Mississippi, the son of Lanier and Annie (Ellis) Smith.

He graduated from high school in Tchula, Mississippi.

Henry married Annie B. Spann and they have been together for over 46 years.

He worked as a roller operator for Peterson Contractors, Inc. (PCI) for many years. He later worked part time as a delivery driver for Hy-Vee.

Henry is survived by his wife, Annie Smith of Cedar Falls; four children, Angelique Smith-Davis of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Nicholas (Nicole) Spann of Las Vegas, Nevada, Melissa (Robert) Thomas of Waterloo, and Timothy (Jennifer) Spann of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Tiluniqua Mincey, Diamond Spann, Minkah Davis, Asianae Spann, Nailah Spann, Jordan Henry Thomas, and Nicholas Spann, Jr.; and ten siblings, Eula Boyland of Memphis, Tennessee, Albert Smith of Memphis, Tennessee, Callie (S.C.) Williams of Waterloo, Willie Smith of Waterloo, Samuel (Lay) Smith of Waterloo, Thomas (Jennifer) Smith of Houston, Texas, Bobbye Wright of Waterloo, Christine Allen of Waterloo, Isadora Smith of Waterloo and Curtis (Brenda) Smith of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Virginia Smith in infancy, Booker T. Smith, Eugene Smith, and Connie Anderson.
