Kim A. Rainey, 61, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at his home.

He was born February 2, 1958 in Waterloo the son of Albert and Donna Haugh Rainey. He was a 1976 graduate of La Porte City High School and attended Hawkeye Tech College for Accounting. He married DeLoy S. Hilmer in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, DeLoy of Waterloo; two sons, Darrell Hilmer of Waterloo, Chris Rainey of Dresser, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Katlain and Dylan Hilmer; one great granddaughter, Nala Hilmer; three sisters, Donna Thompson of Kiln, Mississippi, Christina (James) Montgomery of Mico, Texas, Sharon Williams of Davenport; one brother, Todd (Ralea) Rainey of Camp Douglas, Wisconsin and his best friend, Perry Lies of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Michael Rainey; and one sister, Barbara Wintersteen.

Kim was an avid sports lover, especially the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. He also had a love for Nascar racing, woodworking, grilling and riding his Harley.
