Jake Allan Wilson

Jake Allan Wilson, 16, of La Porte City, went missing Saturday, April 7, 2018, after going for a walk to nearby Wolf Creek. He was born February 11, 2002 in Waterloo the son of Megan Richter Neiswonger and Michael Wilson.

He was a sophomore at Cedar Falls High School and also attended Union High School in La Porte City. He was a member of the La Porte City American Lutheran Church.

Jake enjoyed playing sports. He was excited when he took 1st place in long jump and 2nd place in softball with the Special Olympics. He loved music, performing in the school choir, playing Xbox and swinging in the City Park. Jake’s favorite treats were ice cream, King Size Hersey’s bars and Rockstar drinks.

Jake was an avid nature lover. His favorite hobbies were exploring nature, fishing, and collecting all kinds of treasures like antlers, empty shells, and other things a teenage boy would collect when being outdoors. His favorite chores were feeding the chickens and gathering feathers.

Survived by: his mother, Megan (Jeremy) Neiswonger of La Porte City; his father, Michael (Jennifer Hauser) Wilson of Waterloo; one brother, Tyler Wilson of La Porte City; two step brothers, Jr. Neiswonger of Muscatine, Cody Neiswonger of La Porte City; Grandparents, Jeff (Cheryl) Voelschow of La Porte City, Mike (Laura) Richter of New Hartford; Pat (Barb) Reed of Waterloo; Bruce (Nadine) Wilson of Denver, Bob (Sheila) Neiswonger of Muscatine, Great-Grandparents, Helen Voelschow of La Porte City, Al Benson of Waterloo; many aunts, uncles and cousins; his good friends, Bryan, Isaac, Jacque, Rachel and Jewell; his Special Education Teacher, Tammy Frahm and his assistant, Jon Bachman.

Preceded in death by: great grandparents, Barb Benson, Harold “Bud” Voelschow, George (Helen) Richter, Harry (Irene) Wilson, Clifford (Elaine) Bass, Bob (Suzie) Sistek, and one uncle, Jason Wessels.

Jake has touched so many lives and will forever be loved.
