Dellon Floyd Foster

September 4, 1923 - July 17, 2018

Dellon Floyd Foster, 94, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Western Home Thalman Square.

He was born September 4, 1923, in Traer the son of Harry and Kate Schlichting Foster. He married Phyllis Flynn on November 14, 1946, in Waterloo and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2014.

Dellon served in the United States Navy during the World War II. He was employed with Wilbert Vault Company and then farmed in the Waterloo area for many years. He also volunteered at the Food Bank for twenty years.

Survivors include two sons, William (Deborah) Foster of Otter Tail, Minnesota, and Darwin Foster of Waterloo; two daughters, Nancy Foster of San Diego, Calif and Della Kay (Tim) Masker of Readlyn; twelve grandchildren; thirty three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorna Jane Bruns and Marian Betty Adler.

Services: Saturday, July 21, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Gilbertville American Legion Nugent Demuth Post 714, assisted by the Naval Honor Guard. Public visitation from 4-7 p.m. Friday, July 20, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 6 p.m. vigil. Visitation also one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
