Scott Alan Van Gorder

Scott Alan Van Gorder was born on December 2, 1966 in Waterloo, Iowa, to Robert and Geneva (Nichols) Van Gorder. He attended schools in Jewett, Bunger, and East High. Scott had a variety of jobs throughout his life including working at IBP, Zeidler’s, and Waterloo Auto Parts as a laborer. During the last few years of his life, Scott found Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, riding dirt bikes, and bowling. Scott also cared deeply for his dogs and loved his family greatly.

Scott Van Gorder died in Grundy County on Saturday, June 16, 2018 as a result of a car accident. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Clair and Velma Nichols; and his paternal grandparents: Minnie Hagensick and Sankey Van Gorder.

Scott is survived by his parents; two sisters: Ramona (Bruce) Glenn of Waterloo, and Sharon (Keith) Johnson of Greene; and one daughter: Ashley Hickman of Waterloo; and three nieces.

A celebration of life will be conducted at a future date.
