Biography--

Sandra Kay “Sandi” Ites, 73, of Waterloo, passed away at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, in Waterloo, Iowa, on Saturday, July 7, 2018.

Sandi was born on July 16, 1944 in Aplington, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Irene (Brinkman) Weichers.

She attended Aplington High School.

Sandi married James N. Ites on August 24, 1961 at the Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

She was a counselor and teacher at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, where she and her husband were co-founders and pastored for over 36 years.

She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, decorating, and taking annual trips to Carmel, California. Sandi loved nature, animals, teaching Sunday School and weekly women’s Bible study. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survived by her husband, Jimm Ites of Waterloo; two sons, Terry (Tracey) Ites of Chisum, MN and Scott (Sherry) Ites of Polk City; five grandchildren: Emily (Ryan) Hoyt, Katie Ites, Sam Ites, Stephen (Becca) Ites, and Sayli (Jon) Gibbs; and six great-grandchildren, Lydia, Maddi, Jackson, Jude, Sawyer, and Warren.

Preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dennis Weichers.
