Obituary for Grace McDaniel

Grace McDaniel, 91, of Bickford Cottage, Cedar Falls, formerly of Traer, died Friday, July 6 at Bickford Cottage.

She was born May 10, 1927 in Vinton, daughter of Richard and Huldah Senft Hite. She married Richard McDaniel December 17, 1947 in Galena, Ill. He died March 3, 2014. Grace was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Richard McDaniel of Eldora; two daughters, Karolyn (Dave) Haugebak of Cedar Falls and Kristin (Ernie) Jensen of Janesville; three grandchildren, Tony (Vwarhe) Haugebak, Kara (James) Davis and Zachary (Missy) Brown; eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Summer, Jackson, Isabella, Isla, Ashlynn, Barrett and Maggie.

Preceded in death by her husband and a son, Michael.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with private committal services at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be Monday, July 9 from 4 until 6 pm at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo.

Memorials: may be directed to Bickford Cottage or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Grace enjoyed music and playing guitar with her husband, Richard. For 25 plus years, they traveled back and forth from Arizona where they enjoyed hiking, golf and tennis. They remained active in their later years by biking with family, boating and even water skiing.
