CEDAR FALLS – Donald L. Dixon, 79, of Cedar Falls died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his home.

He was born June 2, 1939, in Tama County, Iowa, son of Arnold and Dorthea (Hansen) Dixon. He married Janet Essen on March 20, 1965 in Grundy Center, Iowa.

He graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1957 and attended Iowa State University. He served in the U.S. Army and was a civil engineer with Wayne Claassen Engineering.

Survived by: his wife of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Tammy (Karl) Langenwalter of Waterloo; a son, Scott Dixon of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Jessica (Brad) Sefert, Blake and Greyson Langenwalter, Morgan White, and Dylan Dixon; and one great grandchild, Parker Sefert.

Preceded in death by: his parents and one brother, Dallas Dixon.

Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5th at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Honor Guard following the service at the church. Private inurnment in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
