Robert "Bob" Wray

November 23, 1928 - June 20, 2018

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Robert “Bob” Wray, 89, of Cedar Falls died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at his home.

He was born November 23, 1928 in Hopkins, Missouri, son of Guy Wray Sr. and Lela Grace Carmichael Wray. He married Dena Van Lengen on June 28, 1953 in Cedar Falls.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, then owned and operated Wray’s Moving for 34 years, retiring in 1993. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church and a current member of Trinity Bible Church, both in Cedar Falls.

He is survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Deb (Mike) Carlo of Cedar Falls and Barb Strom of Waterloo; a son, Robert Mark (Susan) Wray of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren: Niki (Mark) Strassburg, Jeff (Regan) Carlo, Michael (Kristi) Adams, Brett Wray and Emily Wray; six great grandchildren: Logan and Maddox Strassburg, Jackson Roling, Ruby Adams, Caine Patterson and Myah Schilling; a sister, Doris Loger of Waterloo; a brother, Dean (Carmen) Wray of The Villages, FL; four sisters-in-law, Mary Lee Wray of Loveland, CO, Twila Wray of Farmington, NM, Linda Wray of Princeton, WV, and Marlys Wray of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Bill, Doyle, Guy and Hugh Wray; and a sister, Mary Taylor.

Services: Monday, June 25th at Trinity Bible Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Honor Guard and the Iowa Army National Guard.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
