Biography

June M. Groth, 92, of Waterloo, died on Monday, June 18, 2018 at UnityPoint Health ‑ Allen Hospital, in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born June 28, 1925 in Waterloo, the daughter of Carlton G. and Ethel M. Simerson Atkins.

June graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1943. She married Martin W. Groth at Dunkerton Baptist Church; he preceded her in death in May of 1974. She worked for Rath Packing Company. She then worked for Allen Hospital for 22 years as a surgical aide. Also, she volunteered for several years in the occupational health records and the surgical waiting room.

She was a faithful member of Hagerman Baptist Church and former member of Burton Ave. Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Darrell Groth and John (Teresa) Groth, both of Waterloo; two daughters, Gayle (Dennis) Rogers of Des Moines and Julie (Richard) Ennenga of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; and eight great‑grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two infant daughters, Linda and Mary Ann; and one sister, Marry Ellen Van Natta.
