Biography--
Joy S. Adelmund, 73, of Stronghurst, Illinois, and formerly Waterloo, Iowa, died at home, on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
Joy was born on June 9, 1945, in Waldenburg, Arkansas, daughter of Frank & Chlora (Welch) Bolden.
She attended school in Fisher and Weiner, AR.
Joy married David Lewis Sr., and they were later divorced. She married Darrell Lee Adelmund on February 21, 1979 in Waterloo. He died October 31, 2011.
She was a health aide with the Black Hawk County Health Department for 12 years until retiring in 1995.
Joy was a past member of Cedar Terrace Church in Waterloo and the Waterloo Eagles Auxiliary where attended many karaoke nights. She enjoyed gardening and making crafts.
Survived by her daughter, Chlora (Tim) Beiner of Stronghurst, IL; son, David (Diane) Lewis Jr. of Waterloo; stepchildren, Lisa (James Wagner) Poston of Effingham, IL, Dean (Jill) Adelmund of Jackson, MO, Don (Kristan) Adelmund of Lake Geneva, WI, Dixie (Dave) Kroft of Estherville and Darla (Steve) Myers of Clear Lake; many grandchildren; two brothers, Alton (Maryline) Bolden of Harrisburg, AR and Gary (Faye) Bolden of Batesville, AR; and a sister, Bernie (Richard) Williams of Jonesboro, AR.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter, Krystal Beiner; three sisters: Ocie Fortenberry, Vonnie Sawyer, Ozell Robinett; and a brother, Virgil Bolden, Sr.
