Alma Christensen Jepperson (1915-2018)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Alma Christensen Jepperson, 102, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her son’s home in Vienna, MO.

She was born June 13, 1915 in Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Annie DeGroote Hassman. She married Chester Christensen November 25, 1942 in Waterloo. He died May 13, 1965. She then married Willis Jepperson February 19, 1982 in Cedar Falls. He died October 19, 2003.

Alma attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and received her teaching degree. She taught a total of 36 years, the last 20 in Cedar Falls at Lincoln Elementary and Peet Junior High.

Survived by: a son, Alan (Dolly) Christensen of Vienna, MO; a daughter, Lori (Dennis) Huffman of Cedar Falls; two step sons, Daniel (Janet) Jepperson of Ultima, FL and Steven (Mary) Jepperson of Spring, TX; two step daughters, Joan (Charles) Refshauge of Washington, WV and Janet (James) Mullen of Highlands, VA; six grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Wessels; and three brothers, Harold, William and Vernon Hassman.

Services 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 8 at Bethany Bible Chapel in Cedar Falls, with interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls.
