James “Jim” Michael Brady

James Michael Brady was born March 26, 1958, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Edward and Isobel (Van Natta) Brady. He was married to Cindy Alcott on November 5, 1977, and together they had 3 children. Jim worked for John Deere for a short time, then Omega Cabinets. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. Jim was a very funny man and a great story teller. He was a big kid, himself, and children were drawn to him – he loved to bring out the best (and worst) in them!

Jim passed away at the age of 60 years, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Grandview Health Care Center in Oelwein. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy Fike; and a grandson, Caleb Even. Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy; his son, Andy (Delores) Brady of Oelwein; two daughters, Amy (Joshua) Pattison of Evansdale and Angie (Ryan) Knight of Elk Run Heights; two brothers, John (Kathy) Brady of Evansdale and Thomas Brady of Waterloo; four sisters: Mary Jane (Chuck) Jones of Tennessee, Kathleen (Darwin) Peterson of Oelwein, Barb (Steven) Brown of Waterloo and Mary (Wayne) Ketterer of MN; 11 grandchildren: Kaden, Leah, Kaylee, Kylex, Tristan, Courtney, Jaiden, Torri, Seth, Merissa, and Maddox; one great-grandchildren, Granger and one more great-grandson, Baby Nolan who is due to arrive in June.
