Robert “Bob” Ehlers, Sr.

Robert “Bob” Ehlers, Sr. was born October 31, 1938, the son of Harold and Viola (Fults) Ehlers. He was raised in Raymond, on the farm. The youngest of three sons, Bob graduated from East High School with the Class of 1956.

He was married to Margaret “Peg” Schmitz on June 1, 1959, in Preston, Minnesota. The couple made their first home in Raymond, moving to Cedar Falls in 1974. Bob worked as a truck driver until he joined his wife in her business, Cover-All Embroidery.

The couple retired in 2001 when they began spending most of their time on Clear Lake. Bob loved fishing, boating and taking long walks. He was active in church his whole life and continued at Faith Baptist Church in Mason City. Bob loved the Lord and he wanted others to know and love the Lord, too. He had a great sense of humor and his laugh was warm and infectious.
