May 24, 1934 - April 2, 2018

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Virginia Mae Folchert, 83, of Cedar Falls died Monday, April 2, 2018 at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

She was born May 24, 1934 in Cedar Falls, daughter of Thorvald and Carrie (Jensen) Danielsen. She married Larry Folchert on March 22, 1957 in Nashua.

She graduated from Dike High School and Gates Business College. She was a homemaker throughout her adult life, and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by: her husband of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Becky (Glenn Maring) Folchert of Waterloo and Julie (Larry) Ubben of Hudson; two sons, Mark (Terilynn) Folchert of Arlington, TX, and Bruce Folchert of Irving, TX; five grandchildren: Matthew (Laura) Ubben, Amanda Ubben, Jeffrey Folchert, Anna (Patrick) Taylor, and Joshua Folchert; five great grandchildren; four brothers, Leonard (JoAnne) Danielsen of Fitchburg, WI, Delmar (Betty) Danielsen of Cedar Falls, Dale (Janeen) Danielsen of Dike, and Paul (John Wilson) Danielsen of Waterloo; and two sisters, Marlene Danielsen and Janice (Daryl) Andersen, both of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a sister, Jean Dietrick; and two brothers, Wayne and Melvin Danielsen.

Memorial Services: Thursday, April 5 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.

Virginia enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, fishing, wintering in Texas, and spending time with her family and friends.
