Biography--

Elizabeth 'Betty' J. Willasson, 96, of Waterloo, died at Friendship Village Tuesday, March 6, 2018 of natural causes.

She was born on April 20, 1921 in Waterloo, daughter of Victor and Vona Hiskey Foster. She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1939 and later attended Iowa State Teachers College.

She married Donald 'Don' E. Willasson on September 16, 1944, in Hollywood CA. Don passed away on October 19, 2007.

Betty worked as a Teacher’s aide at Irving Elementary for several years. She later worked at Short's Travel as a receptionist.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Waterloo. She was an Elklet and Past President of PEO Chapter FE, Waterloo Woman’s Club, and Garden Club as well as a nationally accredited flower show judge. She was also part of Questers and Floral Study clubs. She was a Waterloo Diplomat with the Chamber of Commerce.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Sally Willasson of Dayton, MN and Susan Lovstad of Burnsville, MN; granddaughters, Stephanie Larson of Carver, MN and Heidi Hanson (Tom) of Maple Grove, MN; a grandson, Scott Lovstad of Houston, TX; and five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Jack and Victor Foster.
