Funeral Service:

Grace Reformed Church
Waterloo, Iowa

Dedication:
Per his wishes, Ron will be cremated following the funeral service. A private family dedication will be held at a later date.

Ronald Anton Kammerman was born April 9, 1946 in Monticello, Iowa, son of Anton & Dessie (Sprague) Kammerman. He graduated from Waterloo East High School with the Class of 1965. Ron married LaVon Claassen and the couple had two daughters. They later divorced. He worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp for 25 years, then D.C. Industries as a machinist. Ron worked for a short time at Bertch Cabinets, followed by All Iowa Contracting. He last worked for A-Line Iron & Metals as a truck driver until his health prevented further employment.

Ron had a zest for life, was widely loved and would be considered the “life of the party” by all who knew and loved him. He was a hard worker but he knew how to have fun: camping, snowmobiling, fishing, pontooning and swimming. Ron also loved classic cars and riding his motorcycle. Most of all, he loved his family and welcomed everyone into his home.

Ron passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at UPH – Allen Memorial Hospital at the age of 71 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Metzger; and a brother-in-law, Harold Metzger.

Ron is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (Stu) Smith and Rebecca (Lowell) Potter both of Waterloo; his long-term friend and companion, Carol Korte; his grandchildren: Leighton, Jacob and Jessica all of Waterloo; a step-grandson, Joshua (Nicole) Smith of Milwaukee; a brother, Dennis (Barb) Kammerman of Waterloo; and three sisters: Pauline Hillman of Evansdale, Judy (Larry) Gordish of Little Rock, AR, and Brenda Hirsch of Waterloo.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
