Barbara Jean “Barb” Auringer, 82, of Landmark Commons in Waterloo, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her home.
She was born November 26, 1935 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of George and Garnet (Cook) Lindsey.
She married John Wesley Barlow on January 10, 1953 in Waterloo, they were later divorced. She married John D. “Jack” Auringer on April 28, 1977 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on October 30, 2010.
Barb worked as a cashier at Fareway in Waterloo, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Prairie Lakes Church.
Barb enjoyed camping, reading, card games, music, bible study groups and having fun with family and friends.
Survived by: three daughters, LeeAnne Kramer of Waterloo, Kathi Eteaki of Euless, TX, Jacki (Albert) Uribe of Park City, UT; two sons, Steven (Kathy) Auringer of Evansdale, Dave (Marti) Auringer of Prior Lake, MN; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Darin) Duffy, Heather (Russell) Dolan, Justin “J.D.” (Amy) Auringer, Holly Auringer, Heidi (Andrew) Krukowski, Jake (Carissa) Uribe, Wes Uribe, Dani Uribe; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Meeker of Byron, IL, Sarah “Sally” (Glen) Hansen of Waterloo; two brothers-in-law, Gene Lightfield of Florida, Bill Zickuhr of California and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; four brothers, George, Al, Jim and Chuck Lindsey and five sisters, Doris Zickuhr, Patricia Hagenbach, Judy Woodworth, Molly Lightfield and Linda Klinkenberg.
