Calvin "Mark" Jansen

March 31, 1951 - December 17, 2017

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Calvin “Mark” Jansen, 66, of Cedar Falls died Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was born March 31, 1951 in Newton, Iowa, son of Delmar and Jeannette (Den Besten) Jansen. He married Jane Rhone on July 28, 1973 in Newton.

He graduated from Newton High School in 1969 and received certification in Tool and Die from DMACC in 1972. He was employed as a Journeyman Tool and Die maker with H&H Machine and Tool, Progressive Tool and John Deere.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Janine (Terry) Riese of Shellsburg; son, Jonathan (Betsy) Jansen of Orland Park, IL; four grandchildren, Jack, Christian and Lillian Jansen and Ryan Riese; three brothers, Darrell (Diana) Jansen of Westminster, CO, Bryce (Sally) Jansen of San Diego, CA, and Dean Jansen of Newton; and a sister, Francine (Marvin) VanDerPol of Lakewood, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, with military honors to follow the service. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family for designation at a later date.
