Biography--

Dora "Dodie" Lahr, age 78, of Waterloo, Iowa, and formerly of Lockeford, California, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, of natural causes.

She was born on January 12, 1939 in San Antonio, TX; the daughter of Andrew J. and Lottie Watkins Davis. Dodie graduated from Somerset High School in Somerset, Texas, where she was a Salutatorian. She attended Delta College in Stockton, CA.

She married Gaylen "Buzz" Trasamar in 1957 in San Antonio; they later divorced. Dodie then married Gerald "Jerry" Lahr in 1966.

She worked as an Office Manager for International Horseshoe Co. (Multi Products) in Lockeford, CA for 30 years, retiring in 2001. Dodie was a past member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi, CA. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary of Lodi, CA, since 1971, where she served as President from 1977-78. She enjoyed reading and RV traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Lahr of Waterloo, IA; four sons, Gaylen "Bret" (Sue) Trasamar of Waterloo, Brian (Sharon) Trasamar of Raleigh, NC, Dennis (Cassie) Lahr of Lodi, CA, Bret (Rosa) Lahr of Stockton, CA; a daughter, Brenda (Curt) Cummer of Viroqua, WI; five grandchildren: Samantha Lahr, Brittany Lahr, Joshua Lahr, Shane Loney and Erik Loney; four sisters, Viola Reeves of Medford, OR, Lois (Bill) McGarity of Medina, TX, Opal “Winkie” Walker of San Antonio, TX, and Joyce (Gary Muczygemba) Mallory of Center Point, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Blain Trasamar; two brothers, Norman Davis and Andy Davis; and by two sisters, Nona Gene Jonas and Gail Davis.
