Obituary for Quintin Fideler

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Quintin J. Fideler, 95, of Cedar Falls died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, Iowa

He was born August 10, 1922, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, son of Louis and Marie (Nemmers) Fideler. He married Delores Sulentic and they later divorced.

He graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Fort Dodge and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He worked as a carpenter throughout the area and with Huff Construction, retiring in 1984.

He is survived by three daughters: Linda (Bill) Townsend of Janesville, Lesly (Rick) Carbiener of Waterloo, and Lisa (Robert) Sloan of Mill Creek, WA; a son, Bo Fideler of Des Moines; six grandchildren: Nathaniel (Elizabeth) O’Neill, Nicholas (Victoria) O’Neill, April (Chad) Clubine, Susan (James) Lancaster, Christopher (Sarah) Sloan, and Elizabeth (Anthony) Ruiz; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna (Bud) Vial, of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Fideler and Paul (in infancy); and by three sisters: Lorraine Heyer, Mary Jane Larsen and Betty Fideler.

Private family services will be held. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.
