Lorrinda “Squeak” Ackerman was born February 9, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Donald & Lauretta (Halverson) Renslow Sr. She was raised in Waterloo and graduated with the Central High School Class of 1974. After high school, Squeak attended Hawkeye Community College where she studied phlebotomy and later went back to study accounting. She was married to Eugene Schroeder in 1976 and the couple had four children together. They were later divorced.
Squeak was married to Dave Ackerman on August 28, 1993. Dave passed away in 2013. She was a very funny woman who was the life of the party. Squeak was smart and wise beyond her years. She was a leader and the consummate caretaker. Squeak loved to decorate for all holidays, but most of all, she spoiled her grandkids greatly. Squeak loved skunks and had a skunk costume which she wore every year for Halloween. She was an amazing person!
Squeak passed away at home on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the age of 61 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald; her husband, Dave; her son, Scott Schroeder and her beloved basset, Wishbone.
Squeak is survived by her mother, Lauretta; her son, Steven (Andrea) Schroeder of Waterloo; two daughters, Gena (André) Schroeder of Waterloo and Kari (José) Amador of Waterloo; two brothers, Donald Renslow, Jr. of Waterloo and Michael Renslow of Waterloo; one sister, Linda Renslow of Waterloo; six grandchildren: Alexander (Ashley), Jacob, Alyssa, Xavier, Skyler, and Isabella; one great-grandchild, Axtin; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Truman and basset, Chumlee.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
