Paul Emmett Gray was born September 9, 1931, near Manson/Twin Lakes, Iowa, son of Charlie and Metta (Abrahamson) Gray. He graduated from Manson High School with the Class of 1949. Following graduation, Paul began a very diverse work life. Starting with delivering bread, hauling gravel, greenhouse worker; then relocating to Cedar Falls to work for Day Dairy. He married Phyllis in 1951 and they divorced after 30 years of marriage.

Paul was a hard worker his whole life and found his greatest pleasure in doing work for others. Following his retirement from Viking Pump in 1993, he worked for Country Terrace Trailer Park doing maintenance.

Paul passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, in the Emergency Room at Covenant Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Gray; a sister, Helen Benoit; and two sons-in-law, Paul Drewlow and John Ward.

Paul is survived by two sons, Randy (Cheri) Gray of Waterloo and Jeff (Traci) Gray of Des Moines; four daughters: Vickie (Merle) Hardy of Blue Earth, MN, Paula (Dean) Pederson of Barnum IA; Denise Ward of Viroqua, WI; and Julie (Jerry) Storm of Inver Grove Heights, MN; one brother, Joe (Sherry) Gray of Manson, IA; three sisters: Marjorie (Butch) Nelson of Ames, Mary Ann Hansen of St. Louis, MO, and Margaret (Rick) Thompson of Tampa, FL; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
