Marylyn Jane Moore Thomas, 90, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died of stroke complications at UnityPoint Health in Waterloo, Iowa, on Friday, September 29, 2017.

Jane was born on October 31, 1926 in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of Barney B. & Mable M. (Warman) Moore. She married Donald O. Thomas on May 4, 1946 at St Johns Chapel, First Methodist Church, in Davenport, Iowa. Jane attended country schools and graduated from Reynolds Community High School in 1943. She was a student at the Moline Institute of Commerce and was employed as a secretary at Grain Processing Corp. in Muscatine, Iowa. Jane later farmed beside her husband in Illinois City. She was manager at both Henrys Hamburgers and Kings Food Host. Jane was a homemaker health aide for Black Hawk County until her retirement in 1991.

Jane is survived by three daughters: Connie Erne of Waterloo, Cherie Kreger of Jesup and Cindie Frazer of Waterloo; seven grandchildren: Angela Erne Taylor of Brunswick, Georgia, Aimee Erne of Cedar Falls, Janel Thomas of Waterloo, Jill Kreger of Tucson, Arizona, Chris (Amanda) Frazer of Carol Stream, Illinois, and David Kreger and Tyler (Sarah) Thomas, both of Waterloo; and four great-grandchildren: Sean (Kela) Bates-Taylor of Naples, Italy, Owen Thomas and Nora Thomas, both of Waterloo, and baby girl Frazer, due November 17, Carol Stream, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her son, Craig Thomas.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at First Wesleyan Church in Waterloo, with inurnment at a later date in Illinois City Cemetery, Illinois City, Illinois. Visitation will be 4 - 7:00 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church or the Cedar Falls Public Library.
