Craig Blain Payne

Craig Blain Payne was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on November 3, 1955, son of Billie Lee and Dorothy (Gibson) Payne. He was raised in Waterloo and attended schools at River Hills and EPI. Craig was an absolutely delightful and happy man with a contagious smile. He never met somebody without shaking their hand. Craig loved to dance and listen to music and would accompany the music on his drums. His favorite musical group was the Gaithers.

Craig passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at UPH-Allen Memorial Hospital at the age of 61 years. He was surrounded by his loved ones when he reached out to take his angel’s hand and enter into the Lord’s presence. Craig was preceded in death by his father; sister, Cindy Lee; and his nephew, Travis Vaughn. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Smith of Evansdale; his brother, William “Blake” Payne of Evansdale; and his two sisters, Christine Vaughn of Waterloo and Bobbi Jean Morley of Marshfield, WI.

Craig will be greatly missed. Memorials may be directed to the family.
