Marita Jean Schiller

April 22, 1938 - August 23, 2017

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Marita J. “Rita” Schiller, 79, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, August 23, 2017 at Stoney Brook Village in West Union.

She was born April 22, 1938 in Nyssa, Oregon, daughter of John and Verna (Miner) Points. She married Marvin Ray Schiller on November 11, 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma. He died February 2, 2005.

She worked as a CNA prior to retiring.

Survived by: a son, Jim (Sara Jane) Schiller of West Union; six grandchildren: Gavin Schiller, Payton Schiller, Maddy Martin, Thomas Schiller, Michael Schiller and Ashley Neelens; a sister, Janie (Gerald) Berg of Cascadia, OR; and a brother, Charles (Sharon) Points of Winona, MO.

Preceded in death by: her parents; two children at birth, Jack and Eva LaRose; a daughter, Teri Schiller; two sisters, Betty Rice and Alice Points; and a brother, John Points.

Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Monday, August 28, at First Presbyterian Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church. Richardson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
