Wendy S. Mataya, 57, passed away August 19, 2017. Funeral Services for Wendy will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 5625 Prairie Street, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Wendy loved her work in outside sales (she could never sit still long enough for inside sales) and as a personal physical trainer. Physical health and fitness was one of her passions. Helping others around her even if all they needed was a hug and her beautiful contagious smile. She most recently helped a woman learn to walk and write again...just one day before Wendy's own passing.
She lit up the room when she walked in, and had a presence about her that made all heads turn her way. She was a huge inspiration, and even a hero, to many. Wendy...if only you knew and believed...how missed you will be by so many. We love you!
Wendy is survived by one son, Jesse Mataya of Hewitt, TX. Her mother Janet Walters of Freeport, Illinois. One sister Erin (Erik) Borseth of La Porte City, IA. Brother Marty (Lissa) Mataya of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Brother Scott (Marla) Hermann of Waterloo, IA. Step-brother Richard (Sherry) Dvorak of Bucyrus, KS. Many nieces and nephews. Many friends who she considered family.
She was preceded in death by Father, Ralph Mataya. Step-sister Cheri-Anne Tremble.
