Obituary for Mary J. O'Connor

Mary Jean O’Connor, 69, of Evansdale, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, August 18 at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born January 16, 1948 in Waterloo, daughter of Jacob and Betty Lou Miller Hockey. She married Tom O’Connor September 19, 1969 in Waterloo. He died January 26, 2016.

Mary was a homemaker.

Survivors include: three sons, Ray (Sue Wilson) of Evansdale, Tim and Maurice of Waterloo; three daughters, Betty (Danny) O’Connor-Rindels and Regina O’Connor-Mora (Todd Hitchings), both of Evansdale and Julie (Randy) Wilson of Owatonna, Minn.; three brothers, Richard (Juanita) Hockey of Waterloo, John “Jack” (Gloria) Hockey of Washburn, and James (Joanna) Hockey of Waterloo; 28 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a sister, Barb Spore; three brothers, Donald Hockey, David Hockey, and Herbert Goode; and a granddaughter, Ashley Brunson-Reiser.
