Biography--

Bernard Allen Trower, 85, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital.

He was born October 23, 1931, in Maynard, Iowa, the son of George E. and Irene Kaune Trower. He married Helen Graesch on March 21, 1953, in Ponca City, OK.

Bernard graduated from Maynard High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954, obtaining the rank of corporal. He was a machine operator at John Deere for 35 years and retired in 1990.

He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and UAW Local #838.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, David (Susan) of Waterloo and John (Pamela) of Rochester, MN; a daughter, Janann (Sheryl Johnson) Trower of Waterloo; a daughter in law, Karla Trower of Ames; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Walter Graesch of Fairbank.

Bernard was preceded in death by a son, James E. Trower; a grandson, Nicholas Trower; a brother, Garland Trower; and a sister, Alice Graesch.
