Helen Harriet Hamann, 97, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Friendship Village in Waterloo.

She was born on November 3, 1919, near La Porte City, the daughter of William and Grace (Walton) Robinson. Helen graduated from Vinton High School in 1937. In 1939, she was united in marriage to Roy Wellman at Jubilee Zion Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death in 1962.

Helen then moved to Waterloo and worked for Opal’s Flowers in Cedar Falls until 1969. She was married to Howard Hamann on August 16, 1969 and worked part time in Grundy Center for Opal and Darrell Gillette while living on the farm. In 1989, Helen and Howard moved back to Waterloo after their retirement. Howard died on January 25, 2008. Helen enjoyed modeling in the Cedar Valley area. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a daughter in infancy; and a sister, Margaret. Helen is survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
