Obituary for Mary Darlene Bahl

Mary Darlene Bahl, 88, died Wednesday, August 16 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born May 29, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur C. and Mary A. Mount Messingham. She married Eugene Schmidt and later divorced. She then married Roman Bahl on August 1, 1959 in State Center. He died in 1978.

Mary was a dental assistant. Later she was a banquet waitress at the Ramada Inn. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Survivors include a son, Randy L. Schmidt of Waterloo; a daughter, Roberta Stolpestad of Albuquerque, N.M.; a step-son, Patrick (Lori) Bahl of Pa.; two grandchildren, Katie and Blaine Stolpestad; two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charlie Bahl; four brothers: Marian, Harold, Donald and Vern Messingham; and by a sister, Velma Bunger.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
