Obituary for Liam Xander Mwanje

Liam Xander Mwanje, seven-month-old son of Anderson and Violet Mwanje, died Wednesday, August 2, at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Liam was born January 8, 2017 in Waterloo. He was the happiest little boy, always bringing a smile to his parents and his extended family at Northeast Iowa Family Practice Center.

Survivors include his parents of Kampala, Uganda; paternal grandparents, Eddy Drick and Regina Namirembe Mwanje of Kayunga, Uganda and maternal grandmother, Violet Ssanyu Nassuuna of Buwama, Uganda.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Henry Kityo Metebi.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 9 at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Public visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and continue for an hour before services on Wednesday.
