Visitation:
Monday, June 26 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, 3146 Kimball Avenue in Waterloo and an hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the Church.

Biography--

Harriet M. Granzow, age 84, of Elk Run Heights, Iowa, died Friday, June 23, 2017 at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

She was born November 28, 1932 on the family farm in Buck Grove Township, Butler County, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Harmina (Kopedryer) Ostendorf. Harriet was united in marriage with LeRoy G. Granzow on September 3, 1949 in Greene, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2005.

Harriet was employed at Whitacker’s Frozen Food in Waterloo, retiring in 1992. She was an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Evansdale, serving as president of the Women’s Society for many years and volunteering many hours for mission work. Sewing was a passion for Harriett and she enjoyed making lap robes and blankets for veterans.

Survivors include two daughters, Leitha (Louis) Aten of Evansdale, IA and Kathryn (Jim) Oesterle of Manitowoc, WI; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Harry R. Granzow; and by her brother, Edwin Ostendorf.
