Visitation
4-7 pm Wednesday May 3, 2017 at Kearns Funeral Service with Military Honors at 4 pm accorded by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the Army National Guard Honors Detail.

Cemetery
Private burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.

Biography--

Wallace B. Ames age 88 of Evansdale passed away on Saturday April 29th, 2017 at his home in Evansdale.

He was born on December 25, 1928 in Talmadge, Iowa, the son of Charles and Vena (Justice) Ames. He attended Thayer High School and graduated with the class of 1945. He married Shirley Patten on February 14, 1957 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death on August 10, 2000.

Wallace worked as an agent for the Chicago Northwestern railroad for forty years retiring in 1988. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bicycle and loved to work with computers. He also played guitar for many years in several country western bands. He served his country in the United States Army during Korean War as a radio operator.

Survivors include five children: Bruce (Irma) Ames of San Rafael California; Brian (Pam) Ames of Evansdale; Sandra (Roger) Curtis of Cedar Falls; Douglas ( Molly) Ames of Wildomar California; and David (Teresa) Ames of Evansdale, eleven grandchildren, and twenty four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by, his wife Shirley, a son Michael Ames; two sisters Ruby Rasmussen and Clarice Ningen; and a brother Amos Ames.
