James A. Budlong

January 7, 1947 - May 17, 2017

DIKE, IOWA – James A. Budlong, 70, of Dike, formerly of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, near Sinclair, when high winds overturned the tractor trailer he was driving.

He was born January 7, 1947, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, son of Otis A. and Edna (Iseminger) Budlong. He married Susan K. Isensee on January 16, 1971 in Long Prairie, Minnesota. She died July 30, 2001.

He graduated from State College High School (Price Lab) in 1965 and served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He farmed over 30 years with his father in the Cedar Falls area and was employed as a truck driver for the Sinclair Elevator.

He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (David) Knudsen of Dike; a son, Jeffery Budlong of Dakota Dunes, SD; a sister, Kathy (George) Hoellen of Lincoln, NE; a brother, Irv Budlong of Newport Beach, CA; and a sister-in-law, Marsha Budlong of Breinigsville, PA.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Budlong.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Richardson Funeral Service.
